I'm starting my Journey through Photography! This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time now. I'm tired of looking at my sad pictures, seeing my priceless moments lost in a blurred photo, and shadowing faces from my lack of knowledge about cameras. Life is zipping by right now, so I desperately want to be able to capture it along the way with beautiful pictures! So, as a birthday gift (a little early) from my dear husband, I am taking photography lessons!!! I can't tell you how excited I am! I might actually be able to cross something off my "Things to Accomplish Before I Die" List! Granted, I may not "accomplish" photography, but that's not the point... I'm doing something for myself, for my family, and for the generations to come. We will leave behind albums of beautiful photos... (well, maybe CD's of beautiful photos, since "Put Photos in Albums" is also on my List.)
So... I ordered my new camera and lenses yesterday. I just asked my mentor what she used, and that's what I got. Therefore, I will have no excuses.
Gosh, that photo is intimidating! I should receive my camera in about a week or two. I'm hoping I can figure out the very basic basics before my first lesson (Oct. 16th) so that I don't waste time on how to turn on the camera. I'm so nervous! I hope I can do this! My husband has faith in me, so I guess I should, too. Hopefully this site will document my journey from beginner to professional photographer. "Hopefully" being the key word there...
I have faith in you, too! We so desperately need a photographer in the family! I'm so excited!! But hopefully your embroidering won't take a back seat...

I don't know of anything you ever wanted that you didn't get either by pouting, screeming, begging, arguing, or pushing your self to rise above everyone else. I love that about you and I'm sure this will be one of your greatest accomplishments. I love you.

Make sure your mentor knows about action pictures. We need some cheaper roping and cutting pictures.......and also how to take a good standing shot of a horse.

When my kids were little I was deep in to photography, but I never did get good at it; deep here means I spent a lot of money on photography. It is so much fun and rewarding when you get the picture that you have in your mind. (A little secret is that you can not take a bad picture of my grandchildren) Like everything else you do, you will be the best. NO PICTURES OF ME.
Love you,
Mop

You go, girl! I bet you'll be great at it! I have a NIkon, too. Maybe when you learn you can show me some tips on how to use mine. I'd be happy to show you some ways to easily put all your photos into digital books that can be printed into hard covers. Best wishes with your new path!
